Thousands of people have thought about learning to DJ. Some bought their first controller and aren't sure what comes next. Others learned through online videos but still have gaps in their knowledge. Many have always wanted to try DJing but lacked access to the right training.

This September, we're changing that.

The Academy gives aspiring and developing DJs across South Africa a new way to learn, progress and build their skills. You can learn from wherever you are.

September Is Our Soft Launch!

Why launch gradually instead of switching everything on at once?

The Academy will roll out courses throughout September. This soft launch allows us to build the Academy while introducing students to different learning paths.

There is another reason to join during September. September courses will have special launch pricing, with prices increasing from October.

That gives students the opportunity to start their learning journey during the Academy's soft launch.

First Question: Can You Actually DJ?

That's where Where The Beat Begins comes in.

This starting course focuses on people who want to understand DJing properly. It goes beyond learning which button to press.

You will explore what happens when two tracks come together. The course introduces the foundations that help you start building a DJ set.

You will explore:

• Equipment
• Beats
• Timing
• Phrasing
• Mixing
• Basic DJ skills

The goal isn't to overwhelm you with technical language. The goal is to get you behind the decks and mixing.

Ready For The Bigger Gear?

Once you develop those foundations, AlphaTheta Pack takes your learning further.

This course moves into professional AlphaTheta and Pioneer DJ equipment. It also explores the workflows you will encounter as your DJing develops.

For many DJs, entry-level controllers feel very different from professional club equipment.

That change can feel intimidating.

It doesn't have to.

Understanding the technology can remove much of that intimidation. You can then concentrate on what really matters - playing music.

Rekordbox: Your Music Needs Some Training Too

Can great equipment and excellent music still create problems?

They can when your music library becomes difficult to manage.

The dedicated Rekordbox course focuses on one of the most important tools within the modern DJ workflow.

The course explores how to prepare tracks and organise your music. It also helps you understand your library and prepare everything before performing.

Good preparation can completely change your DJing experience.

Sometimes, becoming a better DJ doesn't start behind the decks.

It starts before you even get there.

Being A DJ Is More Than Mixing

What happens after you become technically confident behind the decks?

That's why DJ Branding is one of the first courses launching with the Academy.

The course looks beyond equipment and explores how you present yourself. It also covers your identity, EPK and professional presence.

Learning to DJ gets you started.

Building an artist gives you somewhere to go.

Then We're Going Mobile

Not every DJ wants to play inside a club.

That's why On The Go, the Academy's Mobile DJ course, will also come online during September.

Across South Africa, mobile DJs work at weddings, birthdays, corporate events, private functions and celebrations. This environment requires more than simply knowing how to mix.

For some people, mobile DJing can also become a real business.

On The Go is designed for that world.

What If You Want To Make The Music?

What happens when you want to move beyond playing music?

The Academy is also moving into music production.

Three music production courses will join the Academy during the September rollout.

Together, they create a progressive pathway for people who want to move from playing music to creating it.

The pathway includes:

• Essentials - Provides the foundation.
• Sound Architect - Takes those skills further.
• Sound Master - Moves into more advanced stages of production.

You don't have to begin by knowing everything.
